Get FamilyLife on your phone

The app has everything the website has: the family feed, messages, calendar, family map and SOS, and all your household records. Your family's information stays in your account, not on the phone.

Android

Download the app and open the file to install it. Android will ask you to allow installing apps from your browser the first time; that's expected, because the app isn't on Google Play yet.

Or install it straight from Chrome:

  1. Open FamilyLife in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen).

iPhone and iPad

Add FamilyLife to your Home Screen. It opens full screen, like any other app.

  1. Open FamilyLife in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button .
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

To get SOS alerts on an iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later), open FamilyLife from the Home Screen icon and turn on phone alerts in Location & SOS settings.

Location sharing works while FamilyLife is open. In the Android app you can also turn on background location, so your spot on the family map stays current when the app is closed. In an emergency, always call 911 first.
